Developer ConcernedApe’s Next Game Update
Developer ConcernedApe has mentioned that work on his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier, will commence once the development of Stardew Valley‘s 1.6 update is finished.
Recently, ConcernedApe, also known as Eric Barone, finally unveiled the long-awaited 1.6 patch for his beloved farming simulator, bringing in a host of exciting new content updates such as an eighth alternate farm, NPC dialogue, and festivals.
Currently, the 1.6 update is only accessible on PC through platforms like Steam and GOG. The developer is actively working to address any ongoing issues that players may encounter following the release, with several minor hotfixes already in place.
Given ConcernedApe’s complete dedication to the latest Stardew Valley update, fans have been curious about the progress of his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, which was announced in October 2021.
Responding to a fan query on the game’s status, ConcernedApe confirmed via GameSpot that he will resume work on it once Stardew Valley 1.6 is successfully rolled out across all platforms.
“I am excited to get back to work on it,” expressed ConcernedApe. “But I need to ensure that Stardew 1.6 is stable, bug-free, and available on all platforms first.”
The update 1.6 still awaits release on Xbox Game Pass, with ConcernedApe indicating that it is “coming soon”. Additionally, the update is yet to be launched on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, macOS, and mobile platforms.
Haunted Chocolatier bears a striking resemblance to Stardew Valley in terms of style, featuring the same pixelated art style for its environment and characters. The game will also include a crafting system familiar to players, along with some friendly ghosts to aid in managing the chocolate shop.
Although updates on the indie game have been sparse, the most recent piece of information was shared in August 2022 on X along with a single screenshot. Fans may have to wait a bit longer for any announcements related to a release date.
