Digital owners of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cannot platinum the game

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Players Experience Issues with Platinum Trophy Achievement

Players of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth who purchased the game digitally are facing challenges in achieving the platinum trophy. Following the release of patch 1.020 by Square Enix, one of the RPG’s final side quests, known as Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, can only be completed by those who own a physical copy of the game.

Players have reported encountering a bug in the questline, preventing them from progressing in the game. One player shared on the FF7 subreddit, “The questline is bugged for some people and no matter what you do it won’t process your scores against him.” Another player expressed frustration, stating, “Literally the last thing I have to do in the game before I complete my first playthrough. So annoying.”

For players with a physical copy of the game, there is a workaround to address this issue. They can uninstall Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, disconnect their PS5 from the internet, and reinstall the game using the disc. If the save file was created before the update, the trophy should become attainable. However, digital owners will need to wait for Square Enix to release a fix for this problem.

Despite these technical issues, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth received critical acclaim upon its release on 29th February. Described as an “overstuffed but lovable re-imagining” of the original game in our Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth review, the game has captivated audiences.

Square Enix has also announced that the game’s soundtrack is set to release on 10th April, with some tracks already available for streaming.
