Pokémon Go is hosting a special Community Day event featuring Bellsprout on April 20 from 2-5 p.m. in your local time.

How to Find a Shiny Bellsprout in Pokémon Go

According to research by The Silph Road, the shiny rates on Community Days are about 1 in 24. Make sure to keep playing during the event to increase your chances of finding a shiny Pokémon.

If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, consider using an Incense to quickly check each Bellsprout for shinies. Remember that Bellsprout you’ve already tapped will face where your player is standing, making it easier to identify which ones you’ve checked.

Bellsprout’s Community Day Move in Pokémon Go

By evolving Weepinbell into Victreebel from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. in your local time, it will learn the fast move Magical Leaf. If you miss this window, you can likely evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December or use an Elite TM to obtain the move.

Victreebel’s Performance in Pokémon Go Meta

Victreebel can be used in raids and gyms with Magical Leaf and Leaf Blade, but it ranks lower compared to other grass-type attackers like Kartana and grass-type starter Pokémon. It may perform better as a poison-type attacker, especially as a Shadow Victreebel, but it still falls behind popular choices like Roserade and Mega Beedrill in battles.

PvP expert JRE47 suggests that Magical Leaf provides an advantage for Victreebel in PvP battles, particularly when it’s a Shadow Victreebel.

Tips for Making the Most of Bellsprout Community Day

The following bonuses will be active during Bellsprout Community Day:

• Tripled Stardust for catching Pokémon
• Doubled candy for catching Pokémon
• Doubled chance for level 31+ trainers to get XL candy from catching Pokémon
• Incense lasts three hours
• Lure Modules last three hours
• Bellsprout special photobombs when taking snapshots
• One additional special trade
• Stardust cost halved for trading

Make sure to activate a Star Piece and an Incense to increase your chances of encountering powerful Bellsprout during the event. Additionally, if you can Mega Evolve Venusaur, Beedrill, Gengar, Sceptile, Groudon, or Abomasnow, you’ll earn extra Bellsprout Candy per catch.

Niantic will also be hosting special four-star raids from 5-10 p.m., giving players the chance to encounter Bellsprout in a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes after clearing the Weepinbell raid. These raids must be completed in person for a chance to catch the desired Bellsprout.
