Netflix’s The Witcher Will End With Season 5

Netflix announces Season 5 for The Witcher TV series, signaling the end

Streaming giant Netflix has recently revealed that The Witcher will be concluding with Season 5. The highly anticipated Season 4 is currently in production in the U.K., with a new face taking over the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia.

Liam Hemsworth steps in as Geralt for the final seasons

Netflix disclosed in a press statement that Liam Hemsworth has signed on to portray Geralt in both Season 4 and the final Season 5. These two seasons will encompass the remaining three novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. Interestingly, the two concluding seasons will be filmed consecutively, hinting at a seamless transition from Season 4 to Season 5.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the show’s creator, expressed her excitement about the upcoming seasons, stating, “It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

The decision for Cavill to move on from The Witcher came after reported differences in opinions regarding the adaptation of the source material.
