Obtaining Shiny Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan in Pokémon Go

The complete Hitmon-family, including Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, can now be shiny in Pokémon Go. While Tyrogue can only be obtained from eggs as a “baby” Pokémon, you can find the shiny versions of Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan in the wild, although they are not very common spawns.

Shiny Rate for Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan

According to research from The Silph Road, the shiny rate for Pokémon on a regular day is around one in 500. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are not considered rare spawns with boosted shiny rates, so finding their shiny forms will still require some luck.

Increasing Shiny Pokémon Encounters

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to increase your chances of encountering shiny Pokémon. The shiny rates are determined by Niantic and are usually higher during special events like Community Days, Safari Zones, or Legendary Raids. Consumable items that boost shiny rates do not exist in the game.
