Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Coming To Switch As Ecto Edition
Publisher and developer IllFonic has announced that Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed – Ecto Edition, will be making its way to the Switch later this year. The game was originally released on Playstation, Xbox, and PC in October 2022 and Ghostbusters fans have eagerly been waiting for the Switch version to launch.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a multiplayer game set up as an asymmetrical multiplayer battle with four Ghostbusters up against one ghost. Developer IllFonic has confirmed that the game will perform at a dynamic resolution, running at 720p in handheld and 1080p docked, and 30fps all-round. The game is available both physically and digitally when it launches on Switch.
The newly released Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed – Ecto Edition for Switch will include new story content and expand on what is available in the main game. Though the game will push the Switch to its limits, it will be worth the wait.

As players progress, they will unlock cosmetics and upgrades for both Ghostbusters and Ghosts to evolve their gameplay experiences. The game is a 4v1 setup where players can either play as part of a team of new Ghostbusters or a singular Ghost. This game will allow players to enjoy the game solo or with up to four friends. It will have an online and offline single-player mode available in the form of AI-assisted play.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has all the iconic gear and gadgets like Proton Packs, PKE Meters, and Ghost Traps that fans would expect. Players can also enjoy playing as a Ghostbuster with multiple abilities in their arsenal such as possessing objects, sliming, and more. The game has the iconic Firehouse and Ray’s Occult Books that acts as the game’s hub where players can choose missions, customize their characters, practice firing their proton packs, and explore the world. Fans of the original movie will be delighted to hear the original film actors reprising their roles as Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore, along with some new friends!”
