Capcom unveils latest game with Traditional Japanese aesthetic- Path of the Goddess

New Fighting Game from Capcom Takes a Traditional Japanese Turn

Path of the Goddess is the newest project revealed to be in development by Japanese video game maker, Capcom. The game is a surprising departure from their more action-packed offerings like Resident Evil, instead emphasizing beauty and grace in its trailer.

With a wordless trailer narrated entirely through elegant visuals, the game appears to revolve around a praying character looking to gain the help of a masked figure with a sword. Viewers are taken through haunting landscapes with monsters running rampant before seeing characters seemingly transported to a garden where they move with practiced dance-like precision.

The combat shown throughout the trailer is absolutely breathtaking. The characters move with graceful fluidity from one attack to the next, embodying a performance-like quality. A particularly interesting snippet of combat footage shows the masked character defeating a monster to reveal a person underneath, hinting at there being a cursed land to be freed.

Capcom describes the game as featuring a traditional Japanese aesthetic unlike anything else they have done up to this point. Path of the Goddess is created exclusively for Xbox and will be available on Gamepass upon release. No official release date has yet been provided.
