Exploring the fantastical world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom just got even more intriguing with the appearance of mysterious glowing geoglyphs scattered throughout the landscape. These enigmatic designs hold within them Tears of the Dragon, each containing a Memory that unveils the rich backstory of Zelda, Rauru, Sonia, and Ganondorf. Discovering all 12 Tears is part of the main quest “The Dragon’s Tears,” but first, you must complete the “Impa and the Geoglyphs” quest to unlock it. Allow us to be your guide as we navigate the locations of the geoglyphs, Dragon Tear placements, and how to initiate “The Dragon’s Tears” quest.

Every Dragon Tear Geoglyph and Memory Location

Within Hyrule’s Surface, you can find a total of 11 geoglyphs, each connected to a distinct Tear of the Dragon Memory. The 12th and final Tear is not linked to any specific geoglyph and will only reveal itself once you have obtained the other 11. These geoglyphs portray significant figures, objects, and locations from Hyrule’s history, offering glimpses into the Memories they unlock.

Tear of the Dragon #1

Memory: Where Am I?

Coordinates: (-0385, 0200, 0957)

Dragon Tear Location: In Rauru’s left eye.

Begin your search for the geoglyphs by heading to Sinakawak Shrine and New Serenne Stable. From there, follow the northern path until you locate Impa in the field, who will provide the “Impa and the Geoglyphs” quest. Interact with the geoglyph depicting Rauru to access your first Memory.

Memory: An Unfamiliar World

Coordinates: (-2550, 1888, 0319)

Dragon Tear Location: At the top of the gatehouse in the castle.

To reach this geoglyph depicting Rauru and Sonia’s castle, launch yourself northwest from Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. You’ll find the Tear at the apex of the gatehouse.

Memory: Mineru’s Counsel

Coordinates: (1828, 0737, 0089)

Dragon Tear Location: Toward the upper part of the Purah Pad screen.

Make your way to Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower or Kadaunar Shrine and then soar southeast toward the Lanayru Wetlands. The geoglyph featuring Zelda’s Purah Pad is located at the top of the screen.

Memory: The Gerudo Assault

Coordinates: (0695, -1309, 0053)

Dragon Tear Location: Hidden among the trees on the Molduga’s back.

To find this geoglyph showcasing a Molduga, either head to Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower or Gutanbac Shrine on the Great Sky Island. The Tear is concealed within a copse of trees.

Memory: A Show of Fealty

Coordinates: (-3178, -1699, 0418)

Dragon Tear Location: At the top of a high cliff on Ganondorf’s shoulder.

Your destination for this geoglyph featuring a kneeling Ganondorf is the Gerudo Highlands along the northern border of the Gerudo Desert. You can access it from either the Gerudo Canyon or Gerudo Highlands Skyview Towers.

Memory: Zelda and Sonia

Coordinates: (-3096, -0077, 0211)

Dragon Tear Location: On the right side, towards the bottom of Sonia’s hair.

To find the geoglyph showcasing Sonia, head towards the western edge of Hyrule Ridge. The Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower is close by, and it’s easier to drop down onto the geoglyph from Mayasiar Shrine.

Memory: Sonia is Caught by Treachery

Coordinates: (3325, -3566, 0004)

Dragon Tear Location: Located along the northeastern edge in the dagger’s hilt.

Venture to the southeast of Hyrule until you discover a Gerudo scimitar-shaped peninsula harboring the corresponding geoglyph. Both the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower and Kumamayn Shrine will take you nearer to your destination, but be prepared for an extensive flight.

Memory: Birth of the Demon King

Coordinates: (-1863, 3621, 0236)

Dragon Tear Location: In Ganon(dorf)’s cloak decorations near his right elbow.

You’ll find the geoglyph portraying Ganondorf’s transformation into the Demon King Ganon in the far north of the North Tabantha Snowfield, near the location of Zelda’s golden horse. Reach the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower or Taninoud Shrine to access the area.

Memory: The Sages’ Vow

Coordinates: (4467, -0305, 0074)

Dragon Tear Location: Along the outer curve of the stone along the northern edge.

Head to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower on the east side of Hyrule or visit Sihajog or Mayanas Shrine in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. Make your way to the Lodrum Headland peninsula toward the north-northeast, where you’ll encounter a geoglyph featuring a Secret Stone.

Memory: A King’s Duty

Coordinates: (-0649, -2682, 0068)

Dragon Tear Location: Nestled within the flowers on the left side of the headstone.

Head to the southwestern shores of Lake Hylia to uncover the geoglyph depicting Sonia’s headstone. The journey from Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is long but feasible. Alternatively, you can go back to In-isa Shrine on the Great Sky Island and descend from there.

Memory: A Master Sword in Time

Coordinates: (0892, 2951, 0362)

Dragon Tear Location: Near the tip of the blade.

The geoglyph in the Eldin Mountains showcases the Master Sword. Look for it just east of the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, with Mayam Shrine in close proximity. While the image on the map may not be oriented similarly, you’ll find the geoglyph on a rocky prominence.

Memory: Tears of the Dragon

Coordinates: (4534, 2143, 0000)

After collecting the first 11 Tears of the Dragon, a cutscene will play, unveiling the location of the final Dragon Tear. Head to Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, Jochi-iu Shrine, or Gikaku Shrine and glide down to the center of the spiral-shaped peninsula along Hyrule’s eastern coast. There, you’ll discover the 12th Dragon Tear near the Gemimik Shrine. The attached Memory, “Tears of the Dragon,” will divulge the Master Sword’s whereabouts. How to Initiate the “The Dragon’s Tears” Main Quest

To embark on the thrilling “The Dragon’s Tears” quest, you must first complete the “Impa and the Geoglyphs” quest. Here’s how you can get started:

  1. Locate Impa in the field northeast of New Serene Stable, close to the Sinakawak Shrine.
  2. Speak to Impa, who will explain the appearance of the geoglyphs in Hyrule and the presence of Dragon Tears within them.
