Sons of the Forest made an impressive impact when it entered early access on Steam in February, with over two million sales and still counting. In our Sons of the Forest early access overview, we praised the game’s exploration elements, stating, “The real magic of Sons of the Forest lies not in base-building or 3D-printing a sled for reasons I’ve yet to understand, but in the secrets lurking behind boarded-up caverns and underground bunkers.” We described the experience as “curiously liberating” and “such a delightful surprise”.
