While you can enjoy countless hours playing the game without ever facing Molduga, there may come a time when you feel compelled to confront this beast. This guide will help you locate Molduga in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – Where to Find Molduga

Molduga can be found in the vast Gerudo Desert region. It typically remains underground until it senses a potential threat or prey approaching. Spotting Molduga from a distance can be challenging, as it remains hidden until it detects something tempting to attack. If it catches you off guard, you’ll need to be well-prepared to fight and defeat Molduga, as it is a formidable adversary.

When you feel ready to face Molduga, refer to the map screenshot provided above. I have marked four approximate locations where I have encountered this creature. Please note that Molduga is known to move swiftly, so the indicated points are not exact. Your controller will vibrate when you are in close proximity to it.

  1. Northwest of Miryotanog Shrine, to the west of the shifting sands in Toruma Dunes, you will come across an NPC named Isha, who is stranded on some rocks. You can use these rocks as a strategic advantage to battle Molduga safely.
  2. Head southeast from Kudanisar Shrine, or go north from Gerudo Village, while staying to the west of the North Gerudo Ruins. You will find Molduga patrolling a vast, open expanse in this area.
  3. Explore the expansive area located a short distance east from Karahatag Shrine. If you don’t spot it directly to the east, try heading north, as Molduga may be approaching from that direction.
  4. Travel north from Siwakama Shrine, which is not far south from the East Gerudo Chasm. At the base of the cliffs in that vicinity, you will find a Molduga on patrol.

Before you embark on your Molduga hunting expedition, make sure to equip yourself with an ample supply of weapons. It is advisable to have a bow, plenty of arrows, and Bomb Flowers at your disposal. Occupying high ground and attracting Molduga’s attention towards you is the most effective strategy, rather than being caught off guard while traversing the sandy terrain. Additionally, consider clearing the Lightning Temple to avoid having to deal with a sandstorm during the battle.
