Sea of Thieves Season 10 pushed back to October, after devs make “difficult decision” to delay

Sea of Thieves Season 10 Pushed Back to October

The highly anticipated Season 10 of Sea of Thieves has been delayed until October, much to the disappointment of fans. In an effort to make up for the delay, the developers promise players a more polished and refined gaming experience.

Sea of Thieves has gained immense popularity as one of the most beloved multiplayer titles on Game Pass. However, the news of Season 10’s postponement has left some fans feeling frustrated. This is mainly due to the fact that Season 9 will have a longer duration.

With Season 9 extended, players are finding themselves with limited activities in the game. Many players have already reached Renown Level 100, the highest level attainable in a season, and have explored and completed most areas and events on the map. As a result, there is a lack of new content for players to engage with during these upcoming months.

In a blog post, Christina McGrath, the head of community for Sea of Thieves, acknowledged the disappointment among players. She stated, “We know you’ve come to expect a consistent rhythm of how and when we deliver new gameplay experiences. However, there’s still a whole lot happening outside the Seasonal rhythm – so we’re hopeful that even without a new Season next month, you’ll still have lots to do.”

Fortunately, there is a silver lining. While players may have to wait for the regular influx of new content, the additional time allows the developers to ensure that Season 10 is of the highest quality. Furthermore, this delay opens the possibility for even more exciting events to be added to the game.

According to the blog post, the current plan is to incorporate the headline content originally intended for Season 11 into an event for Season 10. This means that players can look forward to two major features within a single season.

“We’re hopeful that while things may feel a little slow at the moment, we’ll be barrelling into the last few months of the year with lots of momentum, giving players the sense of a world re-energised by a packed Season Ten schedule including multiple feature releases, events, and experiences,” McGrath added.
