Baldur’s Gate 3 Blood of Lathander Guide

What’s the Blood of Lathander?

The Blood of Lathander is a legendary weapon in Baldur’s Gate 3 that is highly useful for Clerics. It has a powerful spell that can revive you once per long rest and also heal nearby party members.

How to Get the Blood of Lathander

If you want to obtain the Blood of Lathander, you’ll need to venture to the Githyanki Creche, Y’llek, near the Mountain Pass. You can gain access by befriending the Githyanki or being less hostile towards them. Inside the Inquisitor’s Chamber, a cutscene will trigger. After the cutscene, you can ignore the Inquisitor and proceed left into the west room, where you’ll find two statues.

The left statue contains a plaque with the words “Lathander bids the setting sun a fond farewell,” while the right statue says “Lathander blesses the bountiful, rising sun.” Your task is to align them to face the setting and rising sun, but one of the statues is stuck.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Attack the left statue with a minimum of ten damage to unstick it.
  • Turn the left statue to face west.
  • Turn the right statue to face east.

By completing these actions, a doorway will open, revealing a secret area that contains the legendary mace. However, there are still some obstacles ahead that you must overcome.

Getting Through the Barriers

In this section, you must break three barriers by destroying their active crystals while navigating past traps. Upon entering the secret area, destroy the first crystal to open the barrier. To avoid the Dawnbreaker trap ahead, turn left and skirt around the cliff’s edge behind the next barrier. Finally, disarm the next Dawnbreaker, and shoot the crystal below with a ranged weapon from the northern edge of the cliff to open the final barrier.

Time to Make A Choice

Once you have overcome the barriers, you will find yourself in the chamber with the Blood of Lathander. However, taking the mace recklessly will result in the entire monastery exploding. Although the explosion won’t occur immediately, you must resolve the situation before the lance weapon on the roof destroys everything, including your party.

You have two options:

  • Use the Dawnmaster’s Crest: If you have completed the Stained Glass puzzle on the Rosymorn Monastery above, you can insert the Dawnmaster’s Crest underneath where the mace is located to disarm the weapon. While the puzzle has no significant rewards, it is advisable to trade it for the mace.
  • Destroy the Lathander Solar Machines: These devices can be found in each corner of the room and can only be damaged with ranged attacks. During the fight, you will only have three party members (since one is trapped with the mace), so make sure to destroy the machines within four turns.
