How to find and catch Okidogi in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Teal Mask DLC

Where to Find and Catch Okidogi in the Teal Mask DLC

Upon completing the main story of the Teal Mask DLC, the Loyal Three Titan Pokémon are back to normal and ready to be caught. However, Okidogi, the dog of the group, has remained in its last location. In order to complete your Pokédex, you’ll need to circle back and catch Okidogi. Here’s how:

To find Okidogi, head to Paradise Barrens and go north. Avoiding other Pokémon in the area, you’ll eventually spot Okidogi standing there.

It’s important to note that you cannot throw a Poké Ball to surprise Okidogi. You’ll need to run up and talk to it in order to start the battle.

Note: Okidogi is male, so you won’t be able to catch a female one. Soft resetting for a female Okidogi is not possible.

Okidogi Battle Breakdown

Okidogi is a level 70 Pokémon with a completely offensive moveset:

  • Superpower: Fighting, 120 power (180 due to STAB). Lowers Attack and Defense one stage per use.
  • Crunch: Dark, 80 power. 20% chance to lower Defense by one stage.
  • Poison Jab: Poison, 80 power (120 due to STAB). 30% chance to poison.
  • Brutal Swing: Dark, 60 power.

It’s important to consider Okidogi’s ability, Toxic Chain, which gives it a 30% chance of badly poisoning your Pokémon when it hits. Overall, Okidogi is manageable if you have Pokémon that can withstand its attacks. The key things to watch out for are the Defense drop from Crunch and the Defense reduction from Superpower. Plan accordingly while whittling down its HP.

Interestingly, Okidogi is best countered by Pokémon of the same typing, such as Toxicroak. Even though Toxicroak has a lower Defense stat, Okidogi’s Superpower will continue to lower its Attack. If Toxicroak is not available, most defensive Poison types can effectively handle Okidogi.

Okidogi is Fighting/Poison type. It is especially weak against Psychic, and also weak to Flying and Ground. It resists Fighting, Poison, Rock, Grass, and Dark types, but particularly Bug type.

Okidogi has a catch rate of 1.6%, although it may have been adjusted to be higher for this encounter. Be prepared to use multiple Poké Balls when attempting to catch it.
