How to Get the Malediction Hand Cannon in Destiny 2

If you’re a fan of the Hand Cannon weapon class in Destiny 2, you’ll definitely want to set your sights on acquiring the new Malediction Hand Cannon introduced in Season 22. While it’s still early to determine its ranking within the game, the Malediction is a weapon worth grinding for. However, be prepared for a challenging grind. Here’s how you can obtain the Malediction Hand Cannon in Destiny 2.

Acquisition Method

The Malediction Hand Cannon can be obtained as a Rank 16 reward from the vendors Lord Shaxx, Zavala, or The Drifter. Each vendor offers the same Masterworked version of the Malediction, so you won’t miss out on any perks regardless of your choice. To earn rank points towards the Malediction, you’ll need to participate in the respective activities associated with each vendor. This means engaging in Crucible matches for Shaxx, Vanguard Ops for Zavala, and Gambit for the Drifter.

Repetitive Grind

It’s important to note that focusing on one specific activity will allow you to progress through the ranks more efficiently. If you’re looking to obtain the Malediction Hand Cannon quickly, prepare yourself for an extended grind in either Crucible or Strikes. Personally, I found that grinding through Crucible matches every day was the fastest way to acquire the Malediction. However, if PvP isn’t your cup of tea, you can opt for Vanguard Ops and play through multiple Strikes instead. Just remember to stick with one activity and remain consistent if you want to obtain the Malediction as soon as possible in Destiny 2.

Malediction Perks

The Malediction Hand Cannon comes with a set of perks that are the same across all vendors’ versions:

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Flared Magwell
  • Discord or Enlightened Action
  • Harmony or Explosive Payload
  • Wild Card, Vanguard’s Vindication, One Quiet Moment, or Gun and Run

It’s still uncertain how well the Malediction Hand Cannon performs, but considering Destiny 2’s meta, Hand Cannons could potentially be favored in the upcoming season. Therefore, make sure to dedicate your time to grinding through these activities and obtain the Malediction Hand Cannon for yourself.
