Old School RuneScape (OSRS) – How to Get Rune Pouch

Whether reviving dead herbs on farming runs or freezing multiple combatants in place, mages of Old School RuneScape rely on using runes to cast their spells!

That being said, since their magic spans dozens of different runes, wizards are constantly trying to find ways to preserve inventory space, either by using elemental staffs or using a Rune Pouch.

The Rune Pouch allows you to hold up to 16k of three different runes in a single inventory space (four runes if you are using the upgraded variant), making this a must-need item for those being equipped with a magic combat style!

Getting a Rune Pouch can be a bit of a venture to go through, but I promise you that it is worth it. In this article, I am going to talk about the different ways to get a Rune Pouch in Old School RuneScape, as well as how you can upgrade it to hold an extra rune!

The Rune Pouch in Old School RuneScape can be purchased from a Slayer Master for 750 Slayer Reward Points, the reward store for Last Man Standing for 75 LMS points, or from buying a Rune Pouch Note from the Grand Exchange or another player for around 2m and using it on a banker in the game.

How to Get a Rune Pouch in OSRS

There are a couple of ways to get a Rune Pouch in OSRS. Although the item itself is non-tradable, there is a way to purchase one from another player.

Buying a Rune Pouch Note from the Grand Exchange

The Rune Pouch Note can be bought from another player or the grand exchange for over 2m.

You can also purchase this note for 75 LMS points from the store at Last Man Standing.

This note can be used on a banker to earn yourself a Rune Pouch.

Although you can buy a regular Rune Pouch for the same amount of points at Last Man Standing, this makes it so you can trade it to another player or account.

Purchasing from Last Man Standing Minigame

Last Man Standing is a PvP minigame where players fight it out in a battle-royale-style arena by collecting gear from scattered chests and killing each other until one person is left standing.

Since it is all about PvP, its reward shop is full of items, weapons, and other gear that are all centered around PvP content.

Similar to the previous method, you can buy a Rune Pouch from the Last Man Standing minigame reward shop for 75 LMS points.

This is a handy way for PKers who constantly play this minigame to earn it, as you won’t have to spend more than 2m to get one.

Purchasing from a Slayer Master

For OSRS players who are more centered around PvM content, you can purchase a Rune Pouch from a Slayer Master for 750 Slayer Reward Points. This is the most common way players earn a Rune Pouch, as they will passively earn slayer points through training, regardless of their preferred method of playing.

Slayer Reward Points are earned by successfully completing slayer tasks, earning point bonuses when finished in intervals of 10, 50, 100, 250, and 1000.

It is recommended to stick with your favorite slayer master when reaching these milestones, as you will earn a ton of points by doing so.

Upgrading your Rune Pouch

If holding three different runes in your Rune Pouch isn’t enough, there is a way to upgrade it so it can hold a fourth.

The Thread of Elidinis is a possible reward from the Tomb of Amascut that can be used on a Rune Pouch to upgrade it.

Once used with a Needle on a regular Rune Pouch, it will turn into a Divine Rune Pouch, allowing you to hold an extra type of rune.

The Thread of Elidinis is untradable, and it can only be obtained from the Tombs of Amascut, so only those invested in PvM content will be able to earn it.

That is how to get a Rune Pouch in Old School RuneScape!
