Thief: The Black Parade – A New Expansion for the Classic Game

A group of dedicated modders and developers have recently unveiled a massive expansion for the iconic first-person stealth game, Thief: The Dark Project, which originally debuted 25 years ago. Known as The Black Parade, this unofficial expansion for the Thief Gold edition introduces 10 new missions, four new tools, and “30 minutes of gorgeous cutscenes and more” – all available for free.

You can catch a glimpse of the expansion in the following teaser:

“In The Black Parade, you play as Hume, a hardened criminal who has been exiled as a consequence of his actions,” states the team behind the expansion. “Set in the year 833, you find yourself back in The City, a vast and grungy metropolis filled with nefarious secrets whispered behind closed doors.

Homeless and destitute, you resume your life of thievery and aim to locate your old accomplice Dahlquist. Forged in shadows and silence, you must exercise your stealth and cunning to procure the riches of others while evading the perils of light.”

Aside from providing a fresh digital landscape for fans of the original Thief game, the expansion also incorporates “a few tweaks to the classic Thief gameplay formula” to provide an added challenge, especially on the higher difficulty settings.
