Konami has reported strong financial earnings for the nine months ending December 31st, 2023, showing an 11% increase in revenue and a 53% increase in profits.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, Konami credits much of its success to the launch of Momotaro Dentetsu World: Chikyuwa Kiboude Mawatteru, available exclusively in Japan, and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, released worldwide on multiple platforms.

Momotaro Dentetsu sold over 1 million copies in Japan within a month of its launch on November 16th, 2023, while specific figures for Metal Gear have not been disclosed. Konami also highlights the ‘sustained strong performance’ of eFootball 2024 and Professional Baseball Spirits.

Thanks to these strong earnings, Konami has adjusted its full-year forecast, raising its full-year earnings from ¥328 billion ($2.23 billion) to ¥343 billion ($2.33 billion) and its business revenue from ¥63 billion ($428.4 million) to ¥78.5 billion ($533.8 million), with a total business profit of ¥62.8 billion ($427 million).

Looking ahead, most of Konami’s game releases will not be available on Nintendo’s console. However, Switch players can expect Contra: Operation Galuga in early 2024 and Suikoden I&II HD Remaster.
