New WWE 2K24 Gamplay Trailer Shows Off More Specialty Matches

WWE 2K24 Gameplay Trailer Overview

WWE 2K24 has released a new gameplay trailer titled “Legacy,” providing a comprehensive look at the upcoming game. The trailer showcases the Showcase of the Immortals, a mode designed to celebrate 40 years of WrestleMania, and the legendary stars associated with it.

The trailer offers glimpses of various match types, including the Ambulance Match, the brand-new Casket Match, and an updated Backstage Brawls. Additionally, it provides a sneak peek at the Special Guest Referee Match, along with footage of memorable moments playable through the Showcase of the Immortals.

The trailer prominently features WWE Superstars, particularly those associated with the Showcase of the Immortals. It includes appearances from wrestling icons such as Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Rhea Ripley, The Ultimate Warrior, Charlotte Flair, John Cena, Triple H, and The Undertaker. Notably, the updated cover for the Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition of WWE 2K24 excludes Brock Lesnar. There is uncertainty surrounding Lesnar’s inclusion in the final game, and GameSpot has reached out to 2K for clarification.

The trailer also reveals additional WWE Superstars featured in the 2K24 roster, including Seth Rollins, Trish Stratus, Rey Mysterio, and The Judgment Day.

Furthermore, the trailer provides insight into the updates made to the Backstage Brawl mode, featuring more interactive props and environments such as a stop sign, soda machine, trash can, and breakable glass in specific areas.

It also showcases The Undertaker facing Shawn Michaels in the Casket Match, a new mode where players attempt to place their opponent in an open casket and close the lid. Additionally, the trailer features Randy Orton, Solo Sikoa, and Kevin Owens in the Special Guest Referee Match, with the referee playing a more active role in the match.

Earlier in February, GameSpot had the opportunity to preview a build of WWE 2K24, identifying exciting new features, as well as areas that could benefit from improvement before the game’s release. WWE 2K24 will be available on March 8 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One.
