Attention Xbox Insiders! A new Xbox Update Preview is rolling out to the Beta ring today. These preview OS builds include crucial background improvements to ensure a stable and top-notch experience on Xbox consoles. Even if you don’t notice major changes to the UI, we will continue to provide release notes so you’re informed about upcoming updates.

  • Available: 5 p.m. PT – March 6, 2024
  • Mandatory: 3 a.m. PT – March 7, 2024

Experience Changes

This Xbox Update Preview brings some notable experience and feature updates:

Microsoft Edge – Sidebar

  • The removal of all first-party hub apps like Copilot Chat, Outlook, Teams, Games, and the feature to add websites to the sidebar and Settings section. However, essential shopping and browser features remain intact.

Fixes Included

Thanks to feedback from Xbox Insiders and the hard work of Xbox engineers, the following fixes have been implemented:

  • Various stability and performance enhancements.

Known Issues

While some known issues may still persist, rest assured that Xbox engineers are working on resolving them. Remember to report any issues through Report a Problem.

Audio

  • Intermittent audio problems reported across the dashboard, games, and apps.
    • Troubleshooting: Make sure your TV and all other devices have the latest firmware updates. Contact the manufacturer if needed. You can also find additional troubleshooting tips here.
    • Feedback: Submit feedback via Report a Problem with detailed information about the issue for further assistance.

Networking

  • Investigating reports of network connection issues upon boot. Follow the provided workaround if you experience this problem.
