How to get the secret true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2

How to Achieve the True Ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Your journey to unlock the true ending in Dragon’s Dogma 2 culminates just before the final showdown with the dragon. Following the defeat of the False Sovran in the “final” quest known as Legacy, you will find yourself riding on the dragon’s back towards the ultimate battleground. This is not a mere cutscene, as you retain full control of your character while the dragon delivers an unusually lengthy speech about breaking the eternal cycle.

To unlock the true ending, position yourself at the center of the dragon’s back. Your controller will start to vibrate and your character’s chest will emit a glowing light. Descend to the dragon’s heart and, while clinging to its chest, access your inventory to equip the Empowered Godsbane Blade. Subsequently, you will be prompted to utilize the blade on yourself. Plunge it into yourself to reveal the true ending.

This act will submerge both you and the dragon into the ocean, ultimately shattering the cycle of the dragon and the Arisen. You will then find yourself in a post-apocalyptic version of the open world known as the Unmoored World, where numerous additional main story quests await your endeavors. Your initial task involves reuniting with your lost Main Pawn, serving as the precursor to the unfolding narrative.

If you inadvertently overlook the true ending and engage in the dragon boss fight as usual, you will encounter a deceptive credits sequence within Vernworth Castle’s grand hall. These credits cannot be circumvented, allowing you to freely explore your surroundings while assuming the true rulership of the kingdom.

Fortunately, bypassing a complete replay of the game is achievable if you aspire to attain the true ending. A method exists to revert back to the moments preceding the final confrontation. Locate the ghostly hooded figure situated near the throne; initial interaction with him yields enigmatic dialogues, necessitating a subsequent encounter for clarity.

Persistent conversations with the hooded figure will eventually transport you back to the dragon’s back before the impending boss fight, thereby presenting the opportunity to utilize the Empowered Godsbane Blade and access the true ending.
