Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail will release in late June to avoid clashing with Elden Ring’s DLC

Final Fantasy 14 Online’s Dawntrail Expansion Release Date Revealed

Final Fantasy 14 Online’s Dawntrail expansion finally has a release date, and it will surely excite fans eagerly anticipating a particular highly-anticipated From Software DLC.

Announced during the Dawntrail panel at PAX East, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida shared that the expansion is set to launch on July 2. Like previous expansions, players who pre-order Dawntrail will gain 4 days of early access starting on June 28.

“We actually wanted to start it a week earlier,” mentioned Yoshida about the early access release date, teasingly adding, “Elden Ring DLC…”

“We figured everyone would be interested in playing the Elden Ring DLC,” he continued, alluding to the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion scheduled to debut on June 21. “I’ll give you one week!”

At the PX East panel, Yoshida also unveiled the physical collector’s edition for Dawntrail, which includes new key art by Yoshitaka Amano, a figure of the Warrior of Light in the new Viper job gear, a notebook, a pen case, and an updated map of Hydaelyn – the planet where Final Fantasy 14 takes place.

Additionally, Yoshida confirmed that the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy 16 crossover event will make its way to Final Fantasy 14 on April 2, running until May 8. Players will have just over a month to engage in this limited-time questline and acquire exclusive rewards, including protagonist Clive Rosfield’s outfit and a Torgal mount.

Leading up to the release of Dawntrail, Final Fantasy 14 players have much to anticipate. Sometime before the expansion’s launch, we can also anticipate the second part of the Moogle Treasure Trove event, although the exact date has not been disclosed yet.
