CD Projekt Shares Update on The Witcher and Cyberpunk Sequels, New IP Hadar

The Future of CD Projekt Revealed in 2023 Earnings Conference

The renowned publisher behind fan-favorite franchises like The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt, recently held its 2023 earnings conference. During this event, the company not only discussed the financial success of Cyberpunk 2077 but also provided insights into its current projects and future plans.

The Witcher 4 Takes Center Stage

CD Projekt has an impressive lineup of six major games in various stages of development. Among these projects, the most prominent is Polaris, often referred to by fans as The Witcher 4. The studio is also hard at work on the Cyberpunk sequel, codenamed Orion, and a new IP named Hadar. Additionally, CD Projekt subsidiaries like The Molasses Flood and Fools Theory are working on a Witcher spinoff (Siris) and a remake (Canis Majoris), respectively. While The Witcher 4 and the spinoff are in pre-production, the other projects are still in the conceptual phase.

Out of all these endeavors, The Witcher 4 is the most advanced, with CD Projekt aiming to enter full production by the latter half of 2024. Currently, the studio has 403 developers, the majority of whom are dedicated to this project. Moreover, there are additional team members lending support and flexibility as needed.

While CD Projekt refrains from sharing specific release dates or details about the upcoming games, they assure fans that The Witcher remake will not simply be a rehash of the original. This reboot will introduce new mechanics and gameplay elements, promising a fresh experience for both old and new players alike.

Looking ahead, CD Projekt is exploring potential collaborations with mobile studios to create licensed games based on their beloved franchises. Although no concrete plans have been announced yet, this initiative demonstrates the publisher’s commitment to expanding its reach and engaging with a broader audience.
