Far Cry 7 will star Cillian Murphy, leaker suggests

Cillian Murphy Rumored to Play Villain in Far Cry 7

Recent leaks suggest that Cillian Murphy, known for his role in Oppenheimer, may be stepping into the role of the chief antagonist in the upcoming open-world adventure game Far Cry 7. This news comes from a reliable leaker, j0nathan, who has accurately leaked information about Ubisoft titles in the past, such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

A cryptic tweet shared by j0nathan on the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit featured a photo of Murphy, dynamite with a 72-hour countdown, a crab, and the number “7”. Alongside the images, j0nathan posted in French: “If nothing changes by then”.

Rumors about Far Cry 7, codenamed Project Blackbird, first surfaced in September 2023, suggesting a “non-linear” story centered around the protagonist’s family being kidnapped within the game’s 72 in-game hours, equivalent to 24 real-time hours. The appearance of the number “7” and the 72-hour countdown led fans to speculate that this cryptic tweet was related to the upcoming Far Cry installment.

While there has been no official confirmation from Ubisoft about Far Cry 7 or its cast, j0nathan’s tease has sparked excitement among fans. When asked for clarification about Cillian Murphy’s role in the game, j0nathan’s response of “It’s heating up” only added to the anticipation.

In addition to Far Cry 7, Ubisoft is rumored to be working on a standalone Far Cry multiplayer game, expanding the franchise’s offerings for fans.
