New Content for Fans: Persona 5 Tactica Coming Soon to Xbox

Are you a fan of Persona? Atlus has something special in store for you. During the Xbox Games Showcase, the developer announced two exciting releases for the popular game franchise. First, fans will be treated to Persona 3 Reload, a substantial remake of a revered entry in the series. And secondly, Atlus revealed Persona 5 Tactica, the latest in a line of spinoffs related to Persona 5.

A New Gameplay Style

As the name suggests, Persona 5 Tactica eschews the standard turn-based RPG combat seen across the series in favor of a grid-based tactical gameplay system. Even with the change in gameplay style, the Thieves still have access to their familiar options and commands, including their guns and the titular Personas. If you’re someone who enjoys games like Fire Emblem, you might just find something to latch onto here.

A New Conundrum for the Phantom Thieves

In Persona 5 Tactica, the Phantom Thieves find themselves in a mysterious new world featuring a palace and armies of appropriately-themed villains. The Thieves come across a new faction called the Rebel Corps and team up with it to repel the new threats they face.

A New Look for Familiar Characters

As the reveal trailer makes apparent, Persona 5 Tactica changes more than just the gameplay style. This time around, the Phantom Thieves and other characters from Persona 5 sport a new chibi look that contrasts with the more traditional anime styling adopted by most of the series’ entries. Whether it’s cutesy or grungy, the new look of the characters is certainly something viewers will have strong feelings about.

When Can You Play Persona 5 Tactica?

If Persona 5 Tactica is a spinoff game that appeals to you, you won’t have to wait long. It will be available on Xbox consoles and PC from November 17th, 2022. And for players with a Game Pass subscription, you’ll get to play on day one.
