Black Panther Video Game In Development at EA

EA Announces Cliffhanger Games Team for Black Panther Video Game

Electronic Arts has officially confirmed the formation of a new studio dedicated to developing a single-player video game based on Black Panther. The new team, known as Cliffhanger Games, will be responsible for bringing the beloved Marvel hero to life in a third-person perspective.

In a press release, EA revealed that Cliffhanger Games will have access to all the necessary resources to create an AAA title and will operate out of their headquarters in Seattle. Leading the team will be Kevin Stephens, former vice president of Monolith Productions, who aims to build a diverse and collaborative team:

“We want our game to enable players to feel what it’s like to be worthy of the Black Panther mantle in unique, story-driven ways, and we want Cliffhanger Games to empower everyone on our team as we collaborate to bring this amazing world to life.”

Although the game is still in the early stages of development, Stephens emphasized the importance of building an experienced team with diverse perspectives, drawing talent from past projects such as the Middle-earth saga, Halo Infinite, and God of War saga.

Unlike previous Marvel games that focused on persistent experiences and have failed to resonate with players over time, Stephens’ emphasis on a “story-driven” approach suggests that the Black Panther video game will offer a unique and engaging narrative.
