Although at first glance it may seem like a simple game of pushing boxes, Patrick’s Parabox is actually a recursive puzzler where players delve into boxes within boxes to solve increasingly intricate puzzles. With approximately 350 meticulously crafted puzzles, the game presents players with a maze of boxes, as showcased in the console announcement trailer. As the protagonist dives deeper into the layers of boxes, the trailer captures the escalating praise for the game’s ingenious design.

Patrick’s Parabox has been met with critical acclaim, receiving an average score of 84 on Metacritic. Furthermore, it boasts an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam. The inclusion of Patrick’s name in the title pays homage to the game’s developer, Patrick Traynor. Traynor recently participated in a game jam hosted by Mark Brown from the popular YouTube channel Game Maker’s Toolkit, where he created a similarly recursive and meta game called Video Editor’s Toolkit. This game within a game concept centers around players editing a video about the game jam itself.
