DC Heroes United interactive streaming series announced at SDCC 2023

An Exciting New Interactive Streaming Series Set in the DC Universe

An upcoming interactive streaming series set in the DC Universe will give players the decision-making superpowers of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman in a story that will lead to the formation of the Justice League.

DC Heroes United

was announced by DC and Genvid Entertainment at San Diego Comic-Con, promising a choose-your-own-adventure experience on a massive, global scale.

Developed by Genvid Entertainment and Piranha Games

The series is being developed by Genvid Entertainment, the company behind Silent Hill: Ascension and a new Borderlands interactive streaming series, as well as Piranha Games, the studio responsible for MechWarrior Online.

A Narrative Origin Story for the Justice League

The central narrative of DC Heroes United serves as an origin story for the Justice League itself. The story takes place on an alternate Earth, Earth-212, where the heroes and villains of DC remain largely unknown to each other and the general public. However, with the appearance of the magical Tower of Fate in Gotham City, these fledgling heroes are thrust into the spotlight.

Decisions That Shape the Fate of the DC Universe

Fans will have the power to shape how Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman work together and whether they succeed or fail in DC Heroes United. Some of the key choices that the audience will make include:

  • How well do The Dark Knight and Man of Steel work together?
  • Do they trust each other and to what extent?
  • How does Batman respond to Wonder Woman and Superman fighting crime in Gotham City?
  • Does Lex Luthor give in to his darker desires?
  • Which characters ultimately fight for good, evil, or themselves, and why?

Unfolding the Interactive Series

Genvid CEO Jacob Novak discussed how the massively multiplayer interactive series will unfold in an interview with Polygon about Silent Hill: Ascension.

“For nearly a century, DC fans like me have debated what hero would win in a fight, what hero was right, or how they would lead the Justice League,” said Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid Entertainment. “Now, we give you the chance to be part of every critical decision from day one, and with incredible storyline and graphical fidelity across everywhere you can watch streaming video.”

Fan Decisions with Global Impact

The creators of DC Heroes United emphasize that fan decisions will have irreversible outcomes for the classic heroes and villains of Earth-212. Stephan Bugaj, chief creative officer at Genvid, compares it to the audience decision about Jason Todd in “Death in the Family,” but on a much larger scale. The final outcomes and the development of the Justice League are ultimately in the hands of the fans.

Release Date and Platforms

While Genvid did not announce a specific release date or platforms for DC Heroes United, fans can eagerly anticipate its arrival in the future.
