How to Delete Outposts in Starfield

Deleting Outposts in Starfield, Explained

In Starfield, players have the ability to build their own space utopia by utilizing the Outpost system. This allows them to gather resources and establish bases on different planets across the galaxies. If you decide that you want to change your layout and delete an Outpost, we’ll show you how to do it.

Deleting Outposts

If you want to delete a base in Starfield, you can do so by approaching the Outpost Beacon and holding the ‘Remove Outpost’ button. Keep in mind that this action is permanent. Before you can remove the structure, you must unassign any crewmates stationed there. To do this, go to the Ship section of the menu and navigate to the Crew tab.

Once you delete an Outpost, all objects within it will be removed and you will be refunded for the building costs. Alternatively, you can rename the base by pressing the designated button instead of holding it down. If you don’t want to delete the entire Outpost, you can remove modules individually:

  1. Open the Hand Scanner
  2. Select the Outpost tab
  3. Hover over or select the module you want to remove
  4. Press or hold the Delete button

If you delete a Crew Station, the active crew members will automatically be unassigned. To get them back to their post, you must either assign them to a new area or build another station. Additionally, using Flycam mode allows you to view the location from a top-down perspective, providing another option to delete builds.

To expand your Outpost numbers, you can set up another base in a different location. Unlocking the Planetary Habitation skill in the Science section allows you to design structures in extreme environments and create builds in various places.
