This is Starfield’s touching tribute to a fan who didn’t get to play

Heartwarming Tribute Found in Starfield for a Dedicated Fan

A touching tribute in the highly anticipated game, Starfield, has brought tears to the eyes of gamers everywhere. The tribute is dedicated to Alex Hay, a devoted fan who tragically passed away before he could play the game he had been eagerly following for years.

Bethesda’s Tribute to Alex Hay from r/Starfield

Alex Hay, an app developer, expressed his disappointment and sorrow on Reddit when news of the final delay was confirmed. He had been battling lung cancer and had stopped treatment in September, looking forward to Starfield as a form of escapism. Sadly, he passed away in March just a month after leaving his heartfelt message.

Simon Roberts, a presumed friend of Alex’s, shared that in the last few months of his life, Alex found solace in other games such as Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Rimworld. He had a deep love for gaming and was known for his kindness and humor.

A call was made to Bethesda, asking if they would be willing to include Alex in Starfield or an Elder Scrolls game as a tribute. While the public response remained unknown, it appears that someone from Bethesda reached out.

Recently, a fan discovered a note from Alex Hay within the game itself. The note, entitled “Alex Hay’s Note,” reads, “To all my friends and fellow explorers, I’m always with you, out there in the starfield. Love always, Alex Hay.” This heartfelt message has touched the hearts of players who have come across it.

Our Editor-in-Chief, Jake, shares his thoughts on Starfield. He believes that the game is a technically sound and polished RPG. However, despite its technical prowess, it lacks a strong sense of character and impactful storytelling.

In our Starfield review, we gave the game a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. We praised its vast exploration opportunities, intricate skill system, and engaging starship combat. However, we noted that the ground combat, writing, and overall atmosphere felt lacking and held it back from a perfect score.

For those who are still unsure about Starfield, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass, giving players the opportunity to try it for themselves. Time will tell if it earns a spot on our list of the best games on Game Pass.
