Where to Find David in the Sabotage Quest in Starfield

Bethesda’s latest open-world game Starfield has already gained popularity among gamers. With its vast missions and countless hours of exploration, there is no shortage of content. However, not all missions have been smooth sailing for players, as experienced with the Sabotage quest.

Locating David on the R&D Floor

In the Sabotage quest, one of the mission objectives is to find David, the news anchor. According to the map and instructions, David can be found on the R&D floor of SSN. Unfortunately, many players have encountered difficulties and glitches while attempting to locate him.

If you’re having trouble with the mission loading or the stealth part, there are a few ways to overcome these challenges.

Solution 1: Go Away and Come Back

A Reddit user named Recent_Antelope6720 shared their method of leaving the planet and waiting for 48 hours before returning. Surprisingly, this trick made the mission work, and David appeared as intended. Although this approach involves some inconvenience and waiting time, it may save you frustration in the long run. Additionally, the Redditor mentioned that their follower was missing for five hours during this process.

Solution 2: Use the Terminal Command

If you’re not concerned about achievements and simply want to complete the mission quickly, you can utilize a terminal command. In the console, type the following commands to teleport yourself directly to David’s location:

  • Prid 00014E4F
  • Moveto Player

Keep in mind that using this method will prevent you from earning achievements, but you won’t have to wait 48 hours.

Dealing with the Stealth Portion

If your struggle lies in bypassing the guards and reaching David due to the stealth element, there are two options available.

Option 1: Ignore Stealth

While it may seem counterintuitive, some players have succeeded by disregarding the stealth aspect entirely. They charged forward, ignoring the need for stealth, and still received a generous reward.

Option 2: Master Stealth

If you prefer to adhere to the mechanics of the game, you’ll need to exercise patience and determination to successfully navigate the R&D floor while hugging walls. For detailed methods that other players have employed, check the Reddit thread dedicated to this quest.

Hopefully, Bethesda will release a patch soon to address this issue. Given that the game is still new and this mission is significant, they are likely working diligently to resolve it.

While we wait for a fix, let’s not forget the vampire cure debacle in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion… Poor Melisande!
