Saw X Review – IGN

Saw X is set to hit theaters on September 29 as part of Fantastic Fest 2023.

Saw X: The Best Entry Yet

The Saw franchise has reached its tenth chapter, and director Kevin Greutert, along with writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, have managed to deliver the best entry in the series with Saw X. However, whether or not you agree with this assessment will depend on your expectations for a Saw movie.

Tobin Bell Takes the Spotlight

After years of playing The Jigsaw Killer, Tobin Bell finally gets the chance to truly shine in Saw X. His performance as John Kramer, the emotional core of the film, is exceptional. The movie opens with Kramer learning he has a few months left to live, adding depth to his character and the events that unfold. As the story progresses, Kramer joins a cancer support group and discovers a miracle cure that saved another man’s life. This sets the stage for the thrilling and suspenseful plot that follows.

Exploring the Evils of the World

Saw X goes beyond portraying Kramer as a righteous vigilante. Instead, it aims to illustrate the real evils of the world while also showcasing the wrongdoings of the fictional character. The individuals who find themselves in Kramer’s traps in this movie are incredibly despicable. The film also explores the power of hope and the consequences of betraying it, all while delivering intense and wicked kills.
