There are three specializations available as you gain experience as an alchemist: Master of Potions, Master of Elixirs, and Master of Transmutation. Each specialization unlocks unique abilities and creations related to potions, elixirs, and transmutation.

One of the reasons why Alchemy is a strong profession is because it benefits all character classes in the game. You can create buffs and healing potions for fighters, mana buffs and spell boosters for magical classes, and even sell your potions to other players for profit. Many players pair Alchemy with Herbalism because alchemists require a steady supply of herbs, making it a powerful combination. This profession focuses more on service and production rather than gathering, unlike some other professions. However, it grants you the Milling ability, which allows you to crush herbs into different pigments. These pigments are then used to create scribe’s ink for crafting glyphs. Due to the need for herbs in ink production, Inscription is often paired with the Herbalism profession to create a powerful combination.

The Engineering Profession

While Engineering may not be as profitable as other professions, its engaging and light-hearted nature compensates for it. If your character is a Gnome, you’ll receive a +15 racial bonus to your Engineering skill, providing a nice advantage. One of the most beloved tools engineers have at their disposal is the Gnomish Army Knife, which allows engineers to resurrect dead players. Although it cannot be used in combat and has a 30-minute cooldown, its potential to save lives cannot be underestimated.

The Enchanting Profession

Have you ever enchanted items in Minecraft to make them more powerful? The Enchanting profession in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight functions similarly! You can enhance your items using essences, dusts, and shards to grant them special abilities and magical enchantments. To acquire these materials, you’ll need to sacrifice other magical items, so it’s recommended to disenchant niche items you no longer need for more essences, dusts, and shards. If your character is a Blood Elf, you’ll receive a +10 racial bonus to your Enchanting profession.

Choosing Enchanting also allows you to produce magical oils and low-level wands. These items can be invaluable in combat, especially when you apply oils to your weapons, granting them various buffs to assist you in battle against enemies. One potential drawback of the Enchanting profession is the cost of leveling up your weapons, which increases as they become more powerful. Additionally, you’ll need to have a Runed Copper Rod in your inventory at all times to perform enchantments.
