Disney Dreamlight Valley Shifts from Free-to-Play to Paid Game
The highly anticipated free-to-play version of Disney Dreamlight Valley has been indefinitely delayed, as the game will now remain a paid game for the “foreseeable future.” However, fans can still expect some exciting updates and a new expansion pass as the game exits early access later this year.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Exits Early Access in December
Mark your calendars for December 5, 2023, as Disney Dreamlight Valley will officially leave early access on that day. While the game will continue to be a paid experience, Gameloft assures players that they will continue to deliver premium game content.
Even though the game won’t be transitioning to a free-to-play model, Dreamloft promises to bring free content updates to the players. These updates will introduce new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and more. Players can still earn moonstones from chests and Dreamsnaps challenges, and have the option to purchase premium currency.
Introducing Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time Expansion
Simultaneously with the game leaving early access, a premium Expansion Pass called Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time will be launched. This exciting expansion will take players on a brand-new adventure to the location of Eternity Isle, featuring two new biomes showcased in the expansion’s teaser artwork.
The expansion will introduce new characters such as Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, EVE from WALL-E, and Rapunzel from Tangled. Additionally, players will have new companions in the form of a monkey, cobra snake, and flowery capybara. More details about the expansion pass will be unveiled in a showcase on November 1 at 1:00 PM ET, which will be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Live.
New Options and Exclusive Cosmetics
Once the game exits early access, the Founders Packs will be replaced with new options. The standard edition will include the base game and 8,000 Moonstones, while the Gold Edition will feature the Expansion Pass, 15,000 Moonstones, and a trio of exclusive cosmetics:
- Flowery Capybara animal companion
- Flowery Summer Cottage house style
- Artist’s Overalls clothing set
Players who purchase a Founder’s Pack before December 4 will receive all three exclusive cosmetic items, along with an additional gift of 2,500 Moonstones. Lastly, the retail-only Cozy Edition, previously announced, will also be available for purchase.
