Battlefield 2042 is gearing up for a holiday-themed update with Season 6, as developer DICE announced the upcoming Holiday Protocol event. The event is scheduled to take place from December 12, 2024, through January 9, 2024, and will be part of the ongoing Season 6: Dark Creations, adding four weeks of holiday-themed content and rewards to the game.

New modes, cosmetic items arriving in event

The event will kick off with the arrival of the Rapid Strike game mode on five different maps, in addition to featuring a candy cane weapon charm and a special character skin. Subsequently, the second week will introduce a new game mode called “Attack of the Elves,” a 4 vs. 28 mode that pits a group of four against 28 “elves” aiming to take down enemies to win.

Aside from the new modes, players can expect a variety of rewards throughout the event, including vehicle and weapon skins, character outfits, and more. The full roadmap for the event can be seen below:
