Confirmation of NBA 2K24 Crossplay for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

2K has fulfilled the wishes of fans by confirming that NBA 2K24 crossplay will be available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game. The highly anticipated release is scheduled for September 8, 2023.

Unfortunately, crossplay will not be available for players on older consoles. NBA 2K24 will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, but with limited features compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.

In addition to the crossplay announcement, it has been unveiled that NBA 2K24 will feature various editions and pay tribute to Kobe Bryant, who appeared on the cover of two editions of the game through “Mamba Moments.”

Just like previous years, NBA 2K24 will offer multiple editions, including the base game, a “Black Mamba Edition” priced at $99.99, and a 25th Anniversary Edition priced at $149.99. The 25th Anniversary Edition will include exclusive in-game content for the MyTeam and MyCareer modes, as well as a free year subscription to NBA’s League Pass streaming service, which grants access to all regular season games.

Furthermore, a special physical edition of the game featuring the WNBA will be available exclusively at GameStop, featuring Sabrina Ionescu from the New York Liberty on the cover.

In addition to Kobe Bryant gracing the cover, NBA 2K24 will pay tribute to him through “Mamba Moments,” where players can recreate his most iconic basketball moments. The game will also introduce ProPlay, which directly translates real NBA footage into NBA 2K24 gameplay. More details about this feature will be announced in the future.
