The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Guide: Where to Find the Tunic of the Wild

The latest installment in The Legend of Zelda franchise, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, introduces new elements while also paying tribute to its extensive history. Familiar suits of armor make a comeback, including the iconic Tunic of the Wild. In this guide, we will show you where to obtain the Tunic of the Wild in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Tunic of the Wild Location in Tears of the Kingdom

The Armor of the Wild set was first featured in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it remains one of the most sought-after sets in the game. The set consists of three pieces, and to acquire the Tunic of the Wild, you’ll need to retrieve it from the head of the Gerudo Dark Skeleton.

Begin your search in the southwestern areas of the Depths if you haven’t explored them yet. The closest chasm you can use to enter is the East Gerudo Chasm, which can be found by gliding south from the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in the overworld.

From the chasm, travel a short distance to Amakawis Lightroot, which will be immediately visible. Follow the statues facing northwest to reach Mihcihc Lightroot. Proceed due west to reach Gonatoyros Lightroot, located on a hill overlooking the Abandoned Gerudo Mine. Travel west again to reach Gonatoyrim Lightroot. Finally, head south to the Gerudo Dark Skeleton itself and search for the head. The precise location can be seen on the map screenshot above, separate from the body.

As you approach the gigantic skeleton and skull, you’ll encounter a higher concentration of challenging enemies. Avoid engaging them if possible and use the Ascend ability to find safety on the skeleton’s ribs if needed. The area is dimly lit, even if you’ve activated lightroots throughout the Depths. Consider using Giant Brightbloom Seeds to improve visibility.

Your objective is to enter the giant skull, which is guarded by several Horriblin enemies. Instead of engaging them in battle, I recommend running inside to claim your reward quickly. The treasure chest containing the Tunic of the Wild can be found atop a bony ledge, mostly surrounded by darkness. Open the treasure chest to obtain the Tunic of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for purchase on the Nintendo Store.
