At a price of $1,049, the Razer Fujin Pro offers the best of both worlds when it comes to gaming and productivity. However, before making a purchase, there is one major caveat that needs to be addressed.

Aesthetic Appeal meets Functional Design

Visually, the Fujin Pro deviates from the typical racing seat design associated with gaming chairs. Instead, it closely resembles a mesh office chair, exuding a sense of elegance and maturity. The chair’s fully aluminum frame, painted in a sleek gunmetal gray, wraps around the backrest, giving it a refined look. While this design is not exclusive to Razer, with the Vertagear Triigger 350 featuring a similar style, it still manages to impress in its own understated way.

But the Fujin Pro is not just about looks, it is designed to provide unparalleled support. Gone are the days of using pillows to compensate for a lack of backrest or neck support. This chair’s mesh back curves gracefully outward in the lumbar region, visible through the mesh, providing dedicated lumbar support. The contoured seat also ends in a waterfall edge, promoting blood circulation. Additionally, the chair features a fully articulating headrest that arcs around the neck. All of these design elements work together to ensure weight is evenly distributed and encourage proper posture.

Unmatched Adjustability

Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the Fujin Pro offers a higher degree of adjustability and support compared to other gaming chairs. The lumbar support can be moved up and down as well as in and out using the knob on the backrest, allowing for a personalized fit. The seat depth slider works in conjunction with the lumbar support to adjust the angle at which your back meets the support, accommodating different seating postures without sacrificing comfort.

The rocking and recline mechanisms on the Fujin Pro operate differently than those found in most gaming chairs. Instead of a dedicated recline lever, the backrest moves along with the user’s pressure, ensuring consistent support while in motion. The tension of the rocking action can be adjusted using a discreet knob tucked away under the seat or locked into place with a lever on the side. It’s important to note that while the chair can tilt up to 130 degrees, it is not designed for full recline.

In addition to its other features, the Fujin Pro is height adjustable, allowing users to find their ideal position. Surprisingly, the chair provides a significant height increase compared to other models. This makes it perfect for setups with larger monitors or placed on higher surfaces. One of the standout features of the Fujin Pro is its high-strength mesh webbing, which provides optimal support and flexibility. The breathable nature of the mesh material is ideal for prolonged use, preventing excessive perspiration in warm environments. The chair’s adaptive properties ensure a responsive feel, more so than traditional foam chairs. However, it’s worth noting that the mesh is not as soft, so it may not appeal to everyone’s preferences. Additionally, the mesh has a slightly grippy texture, which may hinder sliding movements. Nevertheless, the mesh feels durable and maintains the right amount of tension.

In terms of branding, Razer has taken a subtle approach with the Fujin Pro. The inclusion of a small Razer tag on the backrest’s edge and another logo on the frame’s rear is understated, blending in seamlessly with the chair’s overall design.

Craftsmanship and Competition

The Fujin Pro is undoubtedly a product of exceptional craftsmanship, positioning it as a strong contender in the high-end seating market. Having had the opportunity to test various high-end ergonomic chairs, such as the X-Chair, Herman-Miller’s Embody and Vantum, the Vertagear Triigger 350 SE, and the OdinLake Ergo PLUS 743, among others, I can confidently say that the Fujin Pro holds its own against these competitors.

However, there is one aspect where the Fujin Pro falls short: its warranty. Compared to its rivals’ extended warranties of up to ten years, the Fujin Pro’s warranty is limited to five years for the frame and hardware, with only one year of coverage for the mesh. Given the chair’s price and quality, this disparity raises valid concerns. While the product’s quality instills confidence, it would be reassuring to have a more comprehensive and longer warranty from Razer to ensure peace of mind for years to come.

Effortless Assembly

Assembling the Fujin Pro is a quick and straightforward process. Even for beginners, it shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes to complete.

Razer provides all the necessary tools and hardware within the package, making assembly hassle-free. Most of the fasteners are pre-threaded into their respective holes, eliminating the need for guesswork. Although it can be slightly inconvenient to unscrew them initially, the total number of fasteners is minimal.

Standard assembly steps, such as attaching the casters to the base and fitting the piston into place, are required. However, the armrest and backrest are particularly easy to assemble, thanks to clear slots that align with the fasteners. The levers and tension knobs come pre-installed in the base, streamlining the process. The final step involves attaching the headrest, which is a straightforward and effortless task.
